Updating Server Systems Saves Money for a North American Railroad

Major Class I railroad company optimizes data center facility usage, decreasing operation expense and rental spend.

A major Class I railroad company needed to update, consolidate and optimize their physical servers. Since they use a collocated data center to house their physical servers, they pay for rack space and floor space, both of which were expensive and underutilized due to outdated server arrays.

Dynamix proposed replacing outdated technology with modern, space efficient servers. We recommended upgrading to IBM Power 9 servers, which are more powerful, more efficient, and require less maintenance than their previous model. Updating the servers decreased operational expenditures for the client by optimizing physical server space (which cut down on rental costs) and maintenance fees.
