Adding Memory vs. Flash

I know you’ve heard the answer to this one before – it depends! Memory (DRAM) is a quick and easy way to accelerate critical workloads if the application can utilize the additional memory (big “if” here). It is extremely fast but also very expensive and cannot be shared. Flash is less expensive, can be shared with other servers, and offers long term persistence of data.
